Story

“What a Thanksgiving Blessing this is” a young woman named Hazel said to her eight friends. “The sky is clearing up and the rains of the day had finished, just in time to see the meteor shower.”

They were worried that they would lose this once in a lifetime opportunity to see this spectacular sight.  As the sunset peaked over the horizon illuminating the sky with its rays upon the dispersing clouds, the sky transformed to a tourmaline beauty.  The mesmerizing splendour left a sense of awe in their spirits as a flock of ten small birds with red breast flew towards the river’s edge hiding among the Calendula Cosmos, and cattails.

Carol broke the silence, “We better set up before it gets to dark.  First, we must look towards the constellation of Libra. The meteors are to past through it and the constellation of Scorpius”

“Isn’t pronounced Scorpio?”  Janet asked.

“Many think it is but technique it is called Scorpius just like the Capricornus Constellation is often referred to as Capricorn” Carol continued on explaining the difference.

“Oh look how bright the moon is! It almost looks like a large opal in the sky.”  Joy interrupted.

Suddenly Hazel squealed “Oh it starting.” They all looked up as the night sky filled with colourful streaks of light.

“Lots of wishes are going to be made today.” Flora whispered.

As they watched nature’s fireworks, their gasps and awes could be heard in the distance.
