Has the cold and the muck or the fear of slipping due to ice and/or snow stopping you from getting out to accomplish your walking goals? Are winter months giving you the blues or you find yourself having cabin fever? There is a safe alternative for walking outside.
Bring your walking routine indoors.
Chatham-Kent Parks and Recreation has partnered with Wallaceburg Secondary School (WDSS) to keep us active during the Winter Month. Walkers are encouraged to walk the halls of the school in a warm and safe environment.
The WDSS doors are open to walker from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday to Thursday A Walking Pass is required which you can be picked up for free at the Municipal Centre.
This is a great way to keep your feet moving and get your steps in through the winter months. You may also have a chance to meet fellow walks and create new friendships over a common activity.
Don’t let Old Man Winter take the spring out of your steps, and join in the fun of walking indoors.
