Murder Mystery Fundraiser Dinner

πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ Dive into the intrigue at our Murder Mystery Fundraiser! πŸ” Join us on Friday, April 26, at the Canadian Belgian Dutch Club (1342 Dufferin Ave., Wallaceburg). Doors open at 5:00pm, with a delectable 3 course dinner catered by The Black Goose commencing at 6:00pm.
Tickets are just $45 each! Not only will you enjoy an evening of suspense and community, but you’ll also be supporting programs at the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre. Plus, there’s more excitement in store with fantastic prizes to be won!

Calling all pool enthusiasts!

Get ready to break, bank, and hustle in our upcoming Round Robin Pool Tournament! Join us Thursdays starting January 18th until February 15th for several exhilarating days of cue action and friendly competition as players of all skill levels come together to showcase their precision on the felt. Whether you’re a seasoned pool shark or just looking for a good time, this event promises excitement and camaraderie. The Round Robin format ensures everyone gets ample playing time and a chance to test their skills against a diverse array of opponents. Prizes, bragging rights, and a whole lot of fun await you. Bring your A-game and join us for a cue-clashing extravaganza! Rack ’em up and let the games begin!Β  Space is limited, so register in the WAAC office today!

Extended Deadline for 2024 Membership Renewals!

As the WAAC will be closed between Christmas and New Years, we have extended the deadline for our Early Bird Renewal Discount! Current members (2023 membership year) have until January 5th to renew their memberships at the discounted rate of $40. After January 5th, full membership rate of $45 will apply, so don’t delay and renew your membership today!

2024 Memberships Now Available!

That’s right. You can now get your 2024 WAAC membership!Β  We were able to maintain the same rate as the last 3 years despite the rising cost of inflation. Cost of a membership is $45 and the membership will expire on Dec 31, 2024. New members will receive the remaining months of 2023 free as a bonus and current members who renew before Dec 31, 2023 will save $5 off the regular rate!

CK Boomers on the Move Presentation

We will be having a special presentation on Tuesday, October 24th at 10:30am with CK Boomers on the Move, who will cover topics such as downsizing, decluttering to age in place comfortably and more! This event is free, but registration is required as we will be providing light refreshments for this event.

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

The WAAC will be hosting CK Public Health on Tuesday, September 17th for a COVID-19 vaccination clinic, from 9am-12pm.

This vaccine is new and is restricted to those who meet the following requirements:

  • Pregnant individuals
  • Residents or staff of congregate living settings (eg. Retirement homes)
  • People who are 65 +
  • Individuals who identify as Indigenous and their household members
  • Individuals over 6 months of age with a chronic health condition.
  • Health care providers

Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration with CKPU is helpful! Wallaceburg Pop-up Clinics Booking Page (perfectmind.com) (NOTE: This lists the clinic at both the WAAC and at WDSS. The clinic is at the WAAC ONLY! CKPU is aware of this and is trying to update the website.)

Bus Trip – Stratford Festival – Rent – NEW DATE

We have had to reschedule our trip to the Stratford Festival production of Rent. The new date is October 20th.Β  Tickets are now on sale, so stop in the office or call 519-627-6224 to reserve your spot today!

Itinerary

8:15-8:30am: Patrons arrive at 64 McNaughton Ave (Beer Store parking lot) for attendance and to board bus

8:45 am:Β  Bus leaves Wallaceburg

11:0am: Arrive in Stratford

11:00am-1:30pm: Free time to shop, explore, have lunch.

1:30pm: Meet outside the Festival Theatre. Once everyone arrives, enter theatre and be seated by 1:50pm

2:00-5:00: Rent (including 15 minute intermission)

5:00: Meet outside theater to board bus to Queens Inn

5:30pm-6:30pm: Dinner

6:45pm: Board bus back to Wallaceburg

9:00pm: Arrive back in Wallaceburg

Additional Information

Ticket Sales

Tickets are already on sale for everyone!

Reserve your spot by calling 519-627-6224, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm or by emailing wallaceburgaac@gmail.com. Tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Down payment of $50 due within 3 days of booking. If deposit is not paid within 3 days, your reservation will be canceled. As per the WAAC Bus Trip Policy (Policy 2-11), all trip deposits are non-refundable unless the trip is canceled. The non-refundable deposit will be considered a donation to the Centre.

Balance due by October 6th. If the balance is not paid by this date, your reservation will be canceled and your deposit will be forfeited.

If you are unable to attend the bus trip after the time of ticket purchase, please let the Administrative Coordinator or the Program Assistant know as soon as possible so they can attempt to resell your ticket. However, we cannot guarantee that your ticket can be sold.

Itinerary

All times on the itinerary are approximate, with the exception of departure time and show start time.

The bus will be leaving Wallaceburg on time. Please come at least 20 minutes early to ensure we are able to depart on time. Water will be available on the bus.

Upon arrival, there is approximately two and a half hours to explore the shops, restaurants, and other attractions near the theatre.

Lunch is the responsibility of participants. The WAAC will not be providing a midday meal.

WAAC has arranged for the entire group to attend dinner at the Queen’s Inn, catered by The Boar’s Head Pub.

Accommodations of Special Needs

Any health, ambulatory, or dietary needs requiring special attention must be reported at the time of booking. Reasonable attempts will be made to accommodate the special needs of trip members, however we cannot guarantee the level of accommodation by private venues. If you have special dietary restrictions, please let us know at time of booking.

Reasonable attempts to accommodate special needs will take priority on bus seating. Please respect reserved seats. They have been reserved for a reason. All other seating is first come, first serve.

All participants must ensure that their emergency information is up to date with the WAAC prior to departure.
