Mentoring Our Young
The Wallaceburg Senior Citizens Club’s (aka The Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre) first 10 years were a success. With the initiative of the founders, a strong board and active members, the club grew to become a passionate pillar within our community. In 1976, their desire to improve our community led them to be instrumental in Wallaceburg’s 1st Telethon. The fundraiser totaled over $20,000.00 that helped pay for the medical and travel expenses of young Michael Bolton. The same spirit continues to reside today in our community.

As membership boomed, new and exciting social and recreational activities filled their building, which was enjoyed by members and the Wallaceburg community. The club always found their way into the pages of the local newspaper by introducing, hosting and participated in fun activities like yearly picnics, strawberry socials, fishing derby and Christmas dinners. In 1985 the Club held a double celebration, their 10th anniversary and the grand opening of their new site (present location). The first decade is a tribute to founding members’ foresight.
