Virtual Tour – SEA Aquarium in Singapore

Aquariums seem to be very popular for our virtual tours, so here’s another! Today’s virtual tour is at the SEA (Southeast Asia) Aquarium in Singapore is the world’s second largest aquarium and boasts tens of thousands of fish, including a shark tank with 100 sharks! They even have Elephant Fish, a deep-water fish that isn’t usually included in aquariums. Enjoy today’s tour of the SEA Aquarium.

Virtual Tour – Niagara Falls

One of Canada’s – if not the world’s – best known tourist attractions, Niagara Falls is a staple vacation spot for those of us in Southwestern Ontario. One of the Natural Wonders of the World, it is also one of the busiest, with more than 30 million visitors each year. This walking tour takes you down the famous Clifton Hill and along the Niagara River to the Horseshoe Falls.

Virtual Tour – Paris

This week we are visiting the City of Lights, the City of Love, Paris. One of the most recognized cities in the world, Paris is home to some of the world’s most famous museums, churches and other structures (like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe). Paris’s historical district, which runs along the Seine River, is another UNESCO World Heritage site. Paris entertains more than 38 million visitors each year. And now, you get to experience it from the comfort of your own home!

Virtual Tour – Grand Canyon

Today’s virtual tour takes you to one of the most spectacular natural wonders of our world, the Grand Canyon. With 227 miles of canyon and over 5 million visitors every year, the Grand Canyon is a trip that is on many people’s bucket lists. Visitors can experience the canyon from multiple viewing points, by hiking and climbing trails, rafting along the Colorado River, taking a mule ride down the side of the canyon, or soaring over it in a helicopter. This trip follows a few hikers as they traverse from the Grand Canyon’s North Rim to the South Rim, a 24 mile hike that was completed in a day.

Virtual Tour – Dubai

One of the newest and most luxurious cities in the world, Dubai sits on the edge of the Persian Gulf on one side and the Arabian Desert on the other. The city has undergone massive growth in the last 30 years and boasts some of the world’s most recognizable reclaimed land developments including Palm Island and the World Islands. Dubai is also home to some of the most famous architecture in the world, including the Burj Al Arab and the Burj Khalifa, as well as the world’s largest shopping mall coming in at the size of over 12 million square feet. Virtual Tour – Virginia Aquarium

Aquariums are beautiful, peaceful places to visit – be it in person or virtually. That’s why they show up so often in our Virtual Tours!

This week, we are at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. The exhibits at the museum are contained in over 800,000 US gallons (3,028,000L) of fresh and saltwater displays. Travel on an aquatic journey from the shore to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean and experience coastal habitats from around the world. Thousands of animals representing over 300 species, displayed in entertaining and educational exhibits, are ready to enchant, entertain and inspire you!

Virtual Tour – Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is one of the best known historical sites in the Western Hemisphere. Originally built in the 15th century and abandoned during the Spanish conquest of South America, Machu Picchu is a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Built on top of a mountain saddle, the terraces provide stunning views of the mountains and the valley below while the ruins give visitors an idea of the daily life of one of the largest civilizations in the New World.

Virtual Tour – Melbourne Zoo

This week’s virtual tour takes us down under to Australia’s Melbourne Zoo.

You get to see the traditional zoo animals like the lions, zebras, elephants and giraffes, plus some lesser known animals like the tamarin, coati, and Tasmanian devil. Plus the cutest trio of snow leopards!

As an added bonus, the Zoos Victoria YouTube channel has live cams of several habitats! These will usually be linked in the suggested videos section (on the right if you are using a desktop computer, or under the video for tablets and phones), or by clicking on the Zoos Victoria logo right under their video, which will take you to all their videos. Virtual Tour – Christmas Lights Tour of London, England

Virtual Tours are back! We first brought you virtual tours in the spring during the initial lockdown as a way to allow you to see places that you couldn’t visit. There are so many beautiful places around the world that so many of us will never be able to see in person for many different reasons. But that shouldn’t stop us from still being able to enjoy them! So we will be bringing you virtual tours from locations around the world. Look for these posts every Friday!

This week, we are going to take a walking tour around London, England to check out some of the best Christmas light displays across the city for Christmas and New Year 2021 . We know that Christmas was a week ago, but this Christmas Lights Tour from merry old England is too beautiful to wait until next Christmas to share.

The tour starts in Covent Garden with its beautiful large ornaments, Christmas trees, and mistletoe. Then we get to see view Leicester Square and Oxford Circus all lit up for the season. Continue on to the famous Regent Street and The Spirit of Christmas’ Angels Walk. See the world-famous window displays at Hamley’s Toy Shop, followed by a walk to see Selfridges amazing Christmas tree displays before ending in Chinatown. Enjoy!
