Virtual Tour – Ruins of Pompeii Part 3

As promised, we are back with Part 3 of our virtual tour of Pompeii, Italy. You can find Part 1 of the virtual tour here and Part 2 here.

As I said in the introduction for Part 1, I have always been fascinated by the story of Pompeii, about the residents who ignored the warning signs that nearby Mount Vesuvius was going to erupt, about the city buried under ash when the volcano blew, about the archeological discoveries made there and what it tells us about what life was like 2000 years ago. I was even fortunate enough to be able to visit the Royal Ontario Museum several years ago during their ROMpeii exhibit and see many of the artifacts recovered and preserved in person.

Walking the ruins is on my bucket list. Until then, I have to be satisfied with living vicariously through virtual tours like this. Come with me as we explore the Forum Baths, see some of the body plaster casts of some of the victims, the Herculaneum Gate, and several houses.
