Wallaceburg Senior Centre (WAAC) 2020 AGM

agm updateAll Members

WAAC has traditionally held its AGM in June, this year due to Covid19 Ontario/Municipal guidelines all social gatherings/meeting have been restricted to a maximum of 5 people. Presently the State of Emergency in Ontario has been extended to June 30/20. Whenever the State of Emergency in Ontario is lifted Corporations have 90 days after the emergency ends to hold their AGM or if the State of Emergency is ended within 30 days prior to your current meeting deadline then you have 120 days to hold your AGM. Depending on social gathering guidelines that are in effect a determination will be made on the type of AGM that we schedule. In today’s climate and for the health and safety of our members a virtual meeting may be required. The Ontario Government will allow virtual AGM’s this year for all non profit organizations. This exception applies even though virtual meetings are not covered in your organization’s by-laws. When a decision is made on a date and meeting type membership will be notified. Notice will be given at least 30 days in advance of meeting.

We are waiting for direction and guidance from the Province of Ontario and the Municipality of Chatham Kent.

Presently Turner-Moore our auditor is working on WAAC’s fiscal 2019/20-year end audit. Completed audit will be e-mailed in a timely manner to all members in good standing.

Thank you
